Re: 2021 NESCAC Season

Nescacs has been canceled https://nescac.com/news/2020/10/8/nesca ... ports.aspx

Now ncaa still seems like it might happen so it’ll be interesting to see what happens for each team

Re: 2020 NCAAs

Will we see any intrasquad meets?? I know Texas is planning on doing that but probably wouldn't be too hard to run a meet this weekend if coaches wanted.

Re: 2020 NCAAs

Well....MIT dropped out. Not sure if they'll add anyone to the meet since they dropped out.

But I've heard from a few different teams that they are planning on going to the meet unless it gets canceled so seems like a good sign for people attending the meet.

Re: 2020 NCAAs

All NESCAC spring sports, championships and regular season games have been cancelled... I feel so badly for the seniors and entire sports teams and coaches that don't get their seasons. I get the decisions being made but, personally, I think they are jumping the gun a bit here. I know Tufts has tol...

Re: 2020 NCAAs

Feel especially sad for the seniors. Let’s hope they let the swimmers compete in an empty arena. Fingers crossed. SoCal JOs just cancelled. Age group meet but a big one. YMCA Nationals scheduled for later this month in Greensboro. Cancelled today. https://swimswam.com/ymca-short-course-nationals-ca...

Re: Class of 2024

Two more Tufts recruits announcing on college swimming: Bora Calis (Turkey): 1:05.7/2:22.75 LCM breast which convert to roughly 56.7/2:02.5 (granted those are LCM times but he does have SCM times as well so he has done some swimming with all the right number of turns). If he can translate his succes...

Re: Men's NESCACS

I think it'll happen. And I hope it does, only for Roger Gu's sake. I want to see what he can do once he's fully shaved and tapered. I think we can all agree seeing an 18 second split would just be awesome. "only for Roger Gu's sake" Come on now. I'd like to see the other NESCAC seniors have a nice...

Re: Men's NESCACS

Just ran the numbers, and they land like a ton of bricks on a conversation about whether '21 or '23 is the best class at Williams. '21 and '23 scored 365 and 423 points respectively. While '22 put up a monster 480. And Andrew Royek ('22) was out sick this year and can put up big numbers, too. Let's...

Re: Men's NESCACS

How many times has a freshman ( or someone who swam no relays) won swimmer of the year??? Certainly deserved. The Eph freshmen are amazing. Would’ve loved to see Liam get some love for his incredible relay performances as well. I do think that Grover was deserving for Rookie of the year but man it'...

Re: Men's NESCACS

Looks like with diving both Tufts and Williams have 17 A finals.
With relays slightly favoring Tufts I think Tufts and Williams will be very close at the end of the night.

Re: Men's NESCACS

I would guess that getting an extra guy to NCAA's is more important than what may or may not be a 16 point swing in a 1500+ point meet, but not sure what Kuster's priorities are. Agreed on the points might not matter (but we have seen close meets before) but if you swim Hart he has to be on the pre...

Re: Men's NESCACS

Williams really came out swinging this morning and put up some huge swims. Williams certainly has the edge but we have to wait to see what diving ends up being. If Tufts put 3 in the A versus the 1 Williams diver meet could be a lot closer. Also curious what Kuster will do about their 2 medley relay...

Re: Men's NESCACS

Last year Colby crushed Bates by 45 points head to head in season but finished 10 points behind Bates at NESCACs. This year Bates eked out a home pool win vs Colby despite Colby swimmers winning most events. Bates depth including an extra diver was the difference. I expect more Bates points from th...

Re: Men's NESCACS

My general thoughts on the weekend coming up: Williams: Outlook: This year it’s Williams meet to lose. They generally tend to swim up on their seeds which will help them and hurt Tufts. They are anchored by a very strong Junior and Senior class but there is a lot of potential for swimmers like Hart ...
