Re: November 16th Weekend

There were some impressive swims on the women's side as well. Angela Slevin (Wesleyan) had a 2:07.39 in the 200 back which is the fastest time so far for NESCAC.

Re: Close meet this year?

On the women's side, I am interested in seeing how Caroline Wilson handles the 200 IM/500 free double. Such an interesting choice for her senior year. Like Wilson, I assume Nitz didn't taper for her conference meet. Will be interesting to see what records may fall. And, of course, Nitz is only a fre...

Re: Unofficial psych sheets posted

I looked to see which women didn't make the cut who were in the top 16. I counted 10 of them. Umbarger (50 free) Flaherty (1650 AND 500 free) Martin (100 back) Thompson (200 back) Kee (100 fly) Stradermann (200 fly) Garbarino (200 fly) Phan (200 IM) Beauchamp (400 IM) Jones (400 IM) I wonder how man...

Re: 2013 Cut Line

I've done girls. Get to line 15 and one swimmer in line 16. Emory probably has to cut two swimmers if they have a diver. So if there is an Emory swimmer in your event then may go to NCAA line 16. I'm guessing that happens in 200 back and 1650. Interestingly, a lot of line 16 swimmers were not in rel...

Re: 2013 Cut Line

That's a huge error because that was Kalamazoo's only relay and all four swimmers were relay-only swimmers. I believe that gets the women through line 15 and includes one line 16 swimmer. Emory now does have a problem with its roster limit. It's also hard to predict which three events will be swum b...

Re: 2013 Cut Line

I found one minor error in my list of women. Sarah Yu is not 14th in backstroke. Laura Harris (who already has too many swims) is 14th. That moves up Tinklenberg, who was already in the meet. I don't know why the line is so much higher this year for women (assuming I'm right). One hypothesis is that...

Re: 2013 Cut Line

On the men's side, the individual A cuts alone bring in 81 swimmers with cut lines of: line 13 50 free line 12 100 free line 8 200 free line 3 500 free line 5 1650 line 9 100 back line 9 200 back line 6 100 breast line 8 200 breast line 25 100 fly line 19 200 fly line 8 200 IM line 4 400 IM I didn't...

Re: 2013 Cut Line

On the women's side, through line 14, and including relays, I have squads of 16 for Denison, 15 for Kenyon and 18 for Emory. So I don't see the cap having an impact on women's selections (assuming my placements of swimmers like Kirsten Nitz with multiple possible entries).

Re: 2013 Cut Line

I've done the algorithm for the women. I had to make some assumptions about swimmers with multiple events. I also believe Emory is within its 20 squad limit given the cut line so I didn't drop any Emory swimmer. Surprisingly, I only got to line 14 for one swimmer. Otherwise, the cut line was at 13. ...

Re: Max Fabian

Not to beat a dead horse (but to beat it anyway), I hear that Frank showed up for the Wesleyan/Bates meet and was extremely warmly received. That is consistent with the "want to stay involved" story I heard and not consistent with a disgruntled rejected applicant. But, more importantly, it's nice to...

Re: Max Fabian

I would like to second Are You Kidding. You are just making stuff up about Frank. Frank is a wonderful person who did Wes a huge favor last year. But he had absolutely no interest in staying at Wes. If you want to make up stuff, stay away from a swimming legend.
