Re: 2014 UAAs

Sorry that this meet had to be split up like this. Does anyone know how they are planning to merge the meets afterwards? Doing it by hand will be tedious. You can do it relatively easily with Natalog ( http://www.natavision.com ), but it may not handle ties the same way as Emory indicates on its web...

Re: D3 Mid-Season Power Rankings

My apologies. No, there shouldn't be duplicate events, and, yes, that'll make a big difference in the team standings. The meet results for the Miami Invite didn't mark those duplicate events as "time trials" so the software assumed they were scored events, which caused swimmers to reach their event ...

Re: D3 Mid-Season Power Rankings

Okay, I took the results from 8 mid-season meets, added them to the Miami Invite, and removed all the non-DIII teams. It gives a ballpark approximation, but keep in mind that there is no diving and no Williams, Amherst, Stevens, Trinity, Hamilton, Redlands, or Chicago. Women's Team Standings (DIII O...

Re: Denison

Okay. Here's the combined meet with only the D3 schools. Kenyon has a 187-point lead, but Denison has a couple scratches.

Re: Denison

To further compare Denison and Kenyon at their mid-season meets, I combined the two meets and scored it out. Kenyon came out ahead by about 100 points. Here are the results:

Re: Predictions

No, the program didn't look at historical information or assume any sort of recruiting class. It took a person's best time at the meet and assumed he'd do the exact same time next year, if he didn't graduate. Relays get tricky. It tried to fill holes in relays (due to graduation) with other swimmers...

Re: Predictions

Based solely on the 2013 meet results, I projected out the results for 2014, 2015, and 2016. It's not perfect, but it still gives an idea of a team's youth and depth.

Re: 2011 Cut Line

DePauw in the SCAC should be on the lists too -- 23.36 and 26.09.

Re: Old Qualifying Times

Thanks cheadle, mxskier, and openwater.

Does anyone know when the NCAA introduced the idea of B cuts? Was it around 1992?
Also, does anyone know when the NCAA started allowing swimmers to qualify with 25-meter and 50-meter times?

Re: Old Qualifying Times

pjmm.net has results from old NESCAC/New England meets back to the mid 90's, and at the top of each event has the qualifying times for that year. I don't have time to go through it all now, but that's where they are. Have you seen the results there lately? The link "Meet Results Archive" (where I'd...

Old Qualifying Times

I am looking for time standards from the 1990s. Does anyone have these "old" A and B cuts lying around?

Re: 15:40.61 1500 SCM A Cut?

Actually, 17:17.49 is the yards cuts. The one that is wrong is the short course meters (SCM) cut. It is listed in the official NCAA 2009 handbook as 15:40.61. I am assuming that the NCAA corrected it at some point and was wondering if anyone knew the corrected time. I'm guessing it is supposed to be...

15:40.61 1500 SCM A Cut?

I was looking over some past women's cuts and came across a 15:40.61 for the 1500 short course meters A cut in 2009. This clearly is not correct. 17:17.51 in 2008 and 17:12.69 in 2010. Anyone know the correct 2009 cut?
