Re: Unofficial psych sheets posted

Only 16 total entries in the Men's 1650! Don't false start and you're and All-American. If this doesn't get them to reconsider the Cap, nothing will. [ Post made via iPad ] If anything, we should consider cutting the mile all together. I can't speak for everyone, but for me, its really a pain to wa...

Does anyone know why the cut is slower this time?

Fastest Swim

I haven't done too much research, but from what I can see, Z. Turk has the fastest 50fr split in college swimming (well, just over the two NCAAs)...

Auburn would have won the 2FR if ze turk anchored in his 18.78.

Weik brought it home in 50.7... Miller will have to spin those wheels.

Re: Race of the meet?

Is there any chance of an upset anywhere? By that, I mean a "stone cold led pipe lock" to win that ends up getting pipped. Well, I don't know if "the wrong Denison backstroker" winning the 100 would be an upset, but it's there. I think there is potential for Dyrkacz to take the 200 breast from Rory...

Re: Nationals Predictions

Not far off from what I was thinking. I feel like Douglas is a sleeper in the 4im and I expect him in the top 3.

Re: Race of the meet?

This probably will not interest everyone but I find the 50 free particularly interesting for one reason. Z. Turk. He is the current national record holder, yet his teammate Somers was 19.8 at NCAC's while Turk was 20.4. A minor and perhaps unimportant subplot yes- but will Turk "surprise" and take ...

screeeeeeeeech wrote:You can't call Fronk a sleeper anymore. The kid is a known quantity and is legit. I am inclined to agree though about the 200free. It's going to be a great race.
That being said, the 200IM will be the closest race.
200IM will be close, but the closest is definitely the 100fly.

Throw him in the BR leg and take him out of the 4 MR? Matkin should be able to give the Purple a solid 25 mid. I dont see ze turk doing that.

Re: Race of the meet?

What's the criteria here? Best example of dominance? I'd say Kenyon's 4fr relay because it finish 25 yards ahead of 5th place or Weik because he's going to embarrass everyone again. 100 fly field is 1.1 from 1-16; 100 fr and back has KC and Denison dominance, but the race I'm excited to watch is the...

Re: National Selection

Do the new rules have more of a negative impact on distance free, the 200 stroke and 400 IM swimmers? Should some of these events have a greater rate of participation in any remaining spots once the relays are filled? Good question. My gut says that it probably does, since kids on the outside looki...

My money is on U Chicago for 2nd. I will go as far to say that they will have the most individual wins behind Emory.

Sorry, Carnie, just not your year.

Trinity's Cromwell still holds the 2fly record at 2:00.32 (1989)...and...its just slow.
