Re: Good Old NCAA

how about that 51.66 from Wilson on the breastroke leg? That was unbelievable. Amazing. We'll see if Williams - who now hold the national record - can hold off Emory tonight - and Kenyon,, who will have Curley leading off. It ought to be fantastic. The real surprise of the morning was #1 seed and d...

Re: Good Old NCAA

I think Dennis Mulvhill still has the NCAA Record in the 200 Free 1:36.6xish (from 1988 I'm guessing?). It's not the meet record because back in those days the d3 champ could move on and swim at the d1 meet. But to my knowledge it's still the open record. That said, it's likely not to be standing a...

Re: NESCAC Predictions

That's my point -- without Waddell winning the 200IM Hyde would have been undefeated and you could argue Hyde's superfast splits in the slowest stroke of the medley relays made her most valuable. And I suppose Jerry Heidenreich would have won that gold in the 100 at Munich had Spitz not been there....

Sarah Thompson was MVP, not Waddell. Hyde was good, but Sarah was undefeated individually and, with relays, had three wins on the first day alone.

Re: NESCAC Predictions

Williams women were very strong - could this be their best team ever? Coach Kuster sure had them swimming well. And Williams owned the backstroke; what a difference a few years can make! They have at least five women who will challenge for individual national championships, and it'll be interesting...

The Meet

I hear there have been two swims tonight so far under the A cut. Weik was not one of them. What's the point?

I like Pennington.

Sarah Thompson was dominant.

Wish I could be the announcer!
